With boudoir, there are soooo many questions! Overall, boudoir sessions can be stressful. It’s something out of MANY women’s comfort zones and there is the prep that goes into the session! Every boudoir photographer provides different things and does things with their own twists, so this just adds to the confusion. I am not speaking for all boudoir photographers when I answer these questions, rather I am speaking of the experience you will receive with Soul Shine Boudoir!
🎀 Do I have to bring my own outfits?
Yes! We do ask that you bring a couple of outfits of your own. Don’t be scared and think you need to go out and buy a million things for your session. We ask you to bring around 7 looks to your boudoir session with us. This includes matching bra and panty sets, bodysuits, and streetwear outfits like dresses, sweaters, and jeans. So your 7 outfits, don’t even all need to be underthings! Before you go out and buy anything, I always recommend you check your closet for anything you may already have. If you want to go out and buy a couple of pieces, I ALWAYS recommend Amazon. There are so many affordable options, and if you don’t end up loving something, you are easily able to return it. We also recommend you try on ALL your outfits before your session. This way, we are sure you are in love with the pieces before your session. We want to make sure you are feeling amazing in what you bring! With all that said, we also have a client closet that you are able to check out. The client closet's purpose is to add to what you bring, so we ask that clients do not rely on the client closet entirely! We are able to add a little razzle-dazzle to what you bring! Maybe a fur coat to add some sexy mysterious vibes, a bodysuit to bring together a color palette, or some heels to bring a look together!
🎀 Do I have to know how to pose?
Nope! You do not have to know how to pose to do a boudoir session. We are here to guide you through every detail of every pose. Kara will give you an overall rundown of things to remember while you are shooting before the session, then before every pose she will demonstrate, and then when it is your turn to try the pose she will give you the guidance to capture the perfect picture! With Kara’s knowledge and expertise in boudoir, she is able to give you the BEST posing advice. So no, you do not need to know how to pose coming into your boudoir session, but I PROMISE you will leave knowing how to pose like an absolute MODEL!
🎀 How do I prep? I don’t know where to start!
When you book a session with Soul Shine Boudoir, you receive an 18-page guide detailing EVERYTHING you need to know on how to prep. It covers what to do a month before, a week before, the day of, what to bring, what to expect, LITERALLY EVERYTHING!! It is the boudoir BIBLE that we have hand-crafted over the years to make sure there is no guessing when it comes to prep! Everything is laid out for you to guide you through the entire process. Our goal is to take away any added and unnecessary stress in the planning process, so the guide is there to be your best friend!
