Boudoir sessions can be intimidating, it is something out of a many women’s comfort zones! You are bearing it all in front of a complete stranger. BUT it is a mind, body, and soul experience that I believe every women should experience at least once in their life (but trust me, they are addicting.) That is why I am always trying my best to help ease any nerves that clients may have. In this blog, I will be diving into the details of the overall process, what our flow looks like, and what it looks like when you book a session with us so you know exactly what you are getting yourself into.
Insight
I shoot out of my studio in Hermitage, PA. No one is in studio except my all-female staff while we are shooting to ensure your comfort. We are on the top floor and all doors remained locked while in session! Sessions typically take place on Mondays, Fridays, or Saturdays. Typically, we start at 11:30 during the school year during the week and at 10:00 during the summer and Saturdays.
Prep
Prior to your session, you will receive a guide that helps you prep for your session. It covers every detail of what to bring and tips to help you feel your best to get the most out of your session. I think it is up to 15 pages now, it is very extensive! Along with the guide, you will receive a series of emails checking in, giving you outfit ideas, and much more! We try to keep a constant stream of communication with our clients.
You also will receive a pamper package when you book your session. This has things like a body butter, water bottle, chapstick, etc to help you prep and feel your best before the session! I love making everything an experience.
The Day Of
On the day of your session, professional hair and makeup are done first. I have been working exclusively with our hair and makeup artist, Kaylee, for the past five years. While you are in H&M, I will come in and will go through what you brought and plan the session to best fit you. I also have a fully stocked client closet for you to add to what you bring. I typically recommend 5-8 outfits so we have lots of options. Don’t worry though, as long as you bring one new, properly fitting bra & panties set, I can work with the rest! Hair and makeup & prep take about an hour and a half. As soon as that is finished we start shooting. I walk you through every detail of every pose so you look you're absolutely best! We usually shoot for about 2 hours so I recommend allowing yourself 4 hours total for the experience, just to be safe.
Post Session
After the session, we will schedule your ordering appointment about a week or two following your session to go through your pictures together and pick a collection that works best for you. The ordering appointment schedule is flexible! We can schedule these in the evenings or morning. At that appointment, we will go through your images and put together a collection that’s right for you.
The investment:
The Session fee is $249 & includes no other goods or images. All Collections include a luxury album and start at $799. I tell everyone, it’s just like buying a car, if you want the leather and sunroof (wall art and other gifts), it’s going to cost more. I offer interest-free, In house payment plans that can be extended for up to 12 months as well as discounts for cash!!
