One of the most frequently asked questions is, "When is the best time to do a boudoir shoot?" If I am honest, there is no perfect answer. The answer depends on so much. First, doing a session when you're young just for you is such a great idea. Believe it or not, you are going to want to look back on them and see how far you've come and grown over the years.
On the other hand, it is never too late to do something yourself like a boudoir shoot. No matter what stage of life you are in, we all have room to grow and improve our self-image. I tend to get the comment of "I'm not in the best shape; should I wait to do my shoot?" And the answer to that is easy, NO! It is easier to take care of something you appreciate. Reaching your fitness goals will be so much more rewarding if you already love what you have. I have had so many ladies come in for shoots to physically document their journey to becoming the best version of themselves. I know because I've been there. I was inspired to take better care of myself; I started paying attention to my body, leading to lifelong healthier habits (and a weight loss of 30 pounds).
I also say, "I'm single; what would I ever do with these pictures? I have no one to give them to!" To that, I say, while boudoir shoots make fabulous gifts, in the end, they always end up being more for yourself. As women, we are naturally inclined to give more than we take in anything we do. But there is something so rewarding about doing something just for yourself. I hate that society tells us that there is something selfish about hanging your own face on your wall. Why?? Wouldn't we all be a little farther ahead if we all loved ourselves and could tell others how to love us back?
